Thomas A. Benavidez is shareholder and President of Benavidez Law Group, P.C. Thomas graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law in 1996. While in law school, Thomas earned the position of Executive Lead Articles Editor for the California Western International Law Journal, remained perpetually on the Dean's List and clerked for Appellate Defenders, Inc., writing appellate briefs, motions, and memoranda. Before becoming a part of the Hochuli & Benavidez, P.C., team in 1996, Thomas interned for the Honorable Rudi M. Brewster, United States District Court Judge, writing bench memoranda and court orders. When Daniel J. Hochuli retired from private practice in January 2006, the firm’s name changed and Thomas became the sole shareholder. Today, Thomas manages the firm and serves as general counsel for numerous local governmental entities. He also represents the firm’s other clients in employment, contract and general litigation matters. Thomas is a graduate of the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy.
Before starting his career in law, Thomas was a competitive rifle shooter. Due to the demands of his family and law practice, Thomas has retired from competition, but still actively participates in shooting sports, competitive kayak bass fishing and hunting.
